ICM Group is looking for a Motor Man to work for a Major Oil and Gas Drilling company.Job Summary:The Motor Man is responsible for the operation, maintenance, and repair of the drilling rig s engines and associated equipment.
This role is critical to ensuring the efficient and safe operation of all mechanical systems on the rig.Key Responsibilities:Engine Operation: Operate and monitor diesel engines and other mechanical equipment used in drilling operations, ensuring optimal performance.Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and repairs on engines, generators, pumps, and other mechanical systems.
Schedule and conduct preventative maintenance checks.Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve mechanical issues promptly to minimize downtime.
Conduct emergency repairs as necessary.Equipment Inspections: Regularly inspect all mechanical equipment, identifying potential problems and implementing corrective actions.Documentation: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections.
Complete daily logs and reports as required.Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and industry regulations.
Participate in safety meetings and training sessions.Collaboration: Work closely with the drilling crew and other personnel to ensure seamless operations.
Communicate effectively regarding equipment status and any issues encountered.Training: Assist in training new crew members on the operation and maintenance of mechanical systems.Qualifications:Education: High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in mechanical engineering or related field preferred.Experience: Previous experience as a Motor Man or in a similar role within the offshore oil and gas industry is highly desirable.Working Conditions:Environment: Offshore drilling rig with exposure to extreme weather conditions.Compensation:Competitive salary commensurate with experience.
