We re seeking a highly skilled Technical Solutions Engineer to empower our customers to unlock the full potential of the Databricks unified analytics platform.
In this role, you ll be a technical expert, providing solutions and guidance to address complex challenges related to Spark, Machine Learning, AI, Delta Lake, Streaming, and Lakehouse architectures.
You ll play a crucial role in ensuring our customers achieve their strategic goals and maximize the value of our products.Make a Real Impact:Dive Deep into Spark: Analyze and troubleshoot complex Spark issues using performance metrics, DAGs, and event logs, identifying root causes of job slowness and performance bottlenecks.Expert Problem Solver: Provide deep code-level analysis and solutions for customer challenges related to Spark core internals, Spark SQL, Structured Streaming, Delta Lake, Lakehouse, and other Databricks runtime features.Empower Our Customers: Assist customers in reproducing and resolving Spark problems, offering expert guidance in areas like Spark SQL, Delta Lake, memory management, performance tuning, streaming, data science, and data integration.Lead the Way: Participate in our Designated Solutions Engineer program, mentoring and guiding strategic customers on their daily Spark and cloud-related challenges.Collaborate and Communicate: Work closely with Account Executives, Customer Success Engineers, and Resident Solution Architects to coordinate customer issues and share best practices.
Actively participate in screen sharing sessions, Slack discussions, and other communication channels.Knowledge Sharer: Develop and maintain internal wikis, knowledge bases, and technical documentation to empower both support teams and customers.
Contribute to company documentation and knowledge base articles.Continuous Improvement: Collaborate with Engineering and Backline Support teams to report product defects and drive improvements.Be Part of the Team: Participate in weekend and weekday on-call rotations, managing escalations during runtime outages and critical incidents, ensuring seamless customer operations.What You ll Bring:Hands-on Expertise: 3+ years of experience developing production-scale applications using two or more of the following technologies: Big Data, Hadoop, Spark (mandatory), Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Streaming, Kafka, Data Science, or Elasticsearch.Spark Mastery: Proven experience in performance tuning and troubleshooting Hive and Spark-based applications in a production environment.JVM and Memory Management: Real-world experience with JVM and memory management techniques, including garbage collection and heap/thread dump analysis.Database Proficiency: Experience with SQL-based databases, data warehousing/ETL technologies (e.g., Informatica, DataStage, Oracle, Teradata, SQL Server, MySQL), and SCD-type use cases.Cloud Experience: Familiarity with AWS, Azure, or GCP cloud platforms.Excellent Communication: Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly and concisely.Problem-Solving Prowess: A passion for solving challenging technical problems and a commitment to customer success.Join us and be at the forefront of data innovation
