Part of a global digital marketplace group, it operates one of the country s largest e-commerce sites with a strong tech team focused on innovation.
About the role: As a senior engineer in the Data team you will build and run production-grade data and machine learning pipelines and products at scale in an agile setup.
You will work closely with our data engineers, architects and product managers to create the technology that generates and transforms data into applications, insights and experiences for our users.
Responsibilities: Migrate central services to localized markets within the first 90 days.
Develop and maintain APIs to support various data-related projects.
Work on personalization and monetization projects, including building datasets and serving data through APIs.
Handle moderate-sized datasets, ensuring scalability and efficiency.
Collaborate with backend teams to integrate data solutions.
Participate in weekly engineering syncs and contribute to team discussions.
Required skills: Strong experience with Python, particularly PySpark for batch processing.
Experience with streaming technologies, preferably Apache Flink or Google Dataflow.
Proficiency in public cloud platforms, with a preference for Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
Familiarity with Bigtable or similar technologies.
Background in general software engineering, with experience in backend development and API creation.
Ability to work autonomously and adapt to changing project requirements.
Excellent communication skills and ability to work well within a team.
Nice to have skills: Experience with Java for API development.
Previous experience in data engineering roles with a focus on personalization and monetization projects.
Knowledge of statistical methods and data analytics.
